Our Chef - Webster Lee

Webster Lee was born in North Port Michigan in 1976. Growing up with lots of cousins and family, he enjoyed the outdoor life. For most of his childhood he worked on a fruit farm in Northern Michigan, which according to locals and visitors, boasts some of the best cherries in the country.

As a young man, he moved to Vail and worked at the Vail Cascade restaurant for 2 years. Later, Web decided to check out Hawaii and moved to Lahaina on the island of Maui where he worked for a year and a half cooking.

Feeling a little Island fever, he came back to Colorado. For four and a half years, he worked in Arrowhead at The Bristol, a beautiful, fine dining restaurant that caters to a golf community in the summer. During the off seasons and for many years, he also worked at The Wildflower located in the Lodge at Vail, which opened another opportunity for Web to gain more fine dining culinary skills which he brought to Bighorn Bistro.

Later, he moved to Gypsum, just 36 miles west of Vail to open the Ritterhouse Restaurant. His artistic talents extend far beyond the kitchen as he also paints, mostly in acrylics. He also enjoys snowboarding and working out in the gym. With twelve years of experience in Vail, the quiet spoken chef brings his creativity to the kitchen.

While enjoying using organic ingredients with an Asian flair, Web also adds his own special style to the menu using the freshest ingredients.
